This is the first image in a series of 2 images with a naïve bird.
The picture is inspired by a painting technique where you divide the work into different fields - one of them became a wallpaper-like pattern (which here is the light blue area with the pattern in dark blue). It gives a special depth. When I had built the painting, the bird came to me - and that it should be a simple and almost child-like bird. It reminds me of the beauty of the imperfect.
Maybe hard to see, but the red elements at the bottom are actually directly inspired by a field of red cabbage heads I came across on Samsø in the summer of 2025. They were so beautiful and I've been thinking about them ever since.
